How to prepare for a MIS interview?

Here are some tips from our admissions officers.

1. Age 4 -Age 6

There is no standard test for age 4 to age 6. We will conduct a one-on-one interview or a group interview for the children.

The most important aspect of an interview is the child’s ability to understand and follow simple instructions. The teachers check the lateral thinking ability of the child along with the manner in that he responds to difficulty and his confidence level.

Getting your child a comfort zone is another important thing. Most of the children got school phobia because of discomfort from the environment of interviews and admission.

2. Age7+ (Year3+)

MIS entrance test is an assessment that is designed to help teachers understand how they learn and what their academic potential might be.

The tasks involve thinking about shapes and patterns (Non-Verbal Reasoning), words (Verbal Reasoning), and numbers (Quantitative Reasoning) and some questions are answered by mentally generating and transforming visual images (Spatial Ability).

We strongly advise against any kind of practice ahead of the test. The point of test is that it is not a test of learned knowledge and it needs to be as unaffected as possible by any external factors, such as practice.

For English Language proficiency assessment, we use World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment.

3. Parents Interview

For parents interview, which usually take place during the same visit. You know your child better than anyone else. So, this is your chance to share your unique perspective on their character and abilities.

The admission officer wants to learn more about the student from the parents’ perspective.
