1.In-depth English Teaching Instruction
To adjust to the learning characteristics of Chinese students, our school has designed an English teaching programme for non-native English speakers. The system is based on the English National Curriculum framework and the Cambridge English Standards and focuses on the development of five domains: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and use of English.
The system emphasises learning English in real-life situations so that children can improve their English skills in daily communication and acquire English proficiency in a more enjoyable way. Our students learn more than just the mechanics of the language – they also learn how to express their creativity through English.
When teaching English Language and Literature, the school adopts a Genre-based approach. English teachers follow a process of reading, deconstructing, constructing, and writing, so that students can develop English skills and learn and explore vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structures in a purposeful and meaningful way by using authentic and engaging contexts, which will help them to better develop their English literary abilities and prepare them for more advanced language comprehension.
2.Personalised Education and Evaluation
NAS Beijing, Shunyi teaches pupils in small classes with a low student-teacher ratio. According to the students' learning ability, language proficiency, personal characteristics, and emotional needs, teachers develop personalized education and development strategies for each child. In the school's daily teaching, we implement the concept of personalized education to make students engaged and reach their full potential by carrying out educational projects, providing a personalized learning experience, and adopting various teaching strategies.
In terms of evaluation, the school has a well-established and comprehensive student assessment system. Students are provided with clear guidelines for their development through internal and external assessments, which also provide a solid foundation for personalised teaching and learning.

Our school has a six-year course of college preparation and career planning. Our counselor will speak to the students and work on the university application strategies, write essays and references, and assist them with the application.
5.Global Network and Educational Resources
Being the biggest education group, we have more than 80 schools in Hong Kong, Singapore, the UK, Switzerland, and the USA.
On NAE's "Global Campus" online learning platform, students from NAE schools around the world can participate in competitions in a wide range of disciplines, from art to music, literature, science, and technology, and communicate with friends from around the world on a variety of academic issues, to better connect with the world.

From Grades 1 to 9, NAS Beijing, Shunyi follows the Chinese National Curriculum and uses international teaching methods such as personalised, cooperative, and thematic teaching to help students consolidate their basic knowledge and skills and to improve the soft skills and English language acquisition skills they will need in the future.
In high school, students follow IGCSE and then A-Level, both are recognized worldwide so that they can succeed in joining elite universities.

A:Teachers will use the appropriate educational resources for the students' level of English and tailor-make the lessons to their needs. Extensive exercises and assignments are also customised to the student's weaknesses.
At NAS Beijing, Shunyi, every teacher has two goals: to teach the subject matter and to improve students’ language. Teachers are expected to teach the subject matter as well as think carefully about how to improve the student's academic English so that they can acquire sufficient English skills to be able to learn the subject matter in English and think logically in English.
Teachers also help students better understand new points and concepts through specialised vocabulary lists, visual images, sentence scaffolding methods, and real-time translations of accompanying PPTs.
Learning English requires a good environment. The school puts a Chinese teacher and an international teacher in charge of each class, which provides a good bilingual atmosphere for students to better develop their English skills. In addition, the school also offers a free ESOL support programme for students who require additional English tuition.

A: When students graduate from our school, they will not only have solid basic knowledge but also gain English language skills meeting the standard of academic English and become future leaders with Chinese characteristics, global perspectives, and international competitiveness.
Students will be able and academically ready to take the Chinese High School Entrance Examination. After graduation, they will also be able to step up to the larger world stage. We hope that students will not give up the international vision and abilities they acquired in junior high school and will continue to use what they have learned in future development.

Principal coffee Morning
On Wednesdays, the school hosts the Principal's Morning Hour, where the Principal and teachers of each subject share information about the school's teaching and learning for families.
Friday Assembly: The school organises Friday assemblies and invites parents into the school to participate in student activities so that parents can see their children's learning and life at school and celebrate the fruits of their students' development together.
Termly Report

A:NAS Beijing, Shunyi has a rich curriculum, which makes learning at school fun for students. Starting in Grade 1, in addition to the basic curriculum of Maths and English, the school offers thematic teaching of English, Performing Arts (Music, Drama, Dance), STEAM, Physical Education (Swimming, Physical Fitness, Ball Games, Athletics, etc.), Library Classes, and Visual Arts, with Science opening from Grade 3 onwards.
In middle school, while ensuring the richness of the curriculum, the school will do streamed teaching to make the curriculum more in-depth and more suitable for students of different levels. For example, we provide students with more targeted support and enhancement through English as a Second Language (ESL) or English as an Additional Language (EAL). Science, Humanities, and Social Sciences also offer leveled teaching.
Students learn IGCSE from Grades 9 to 10 with courses such as Art and Design, Biology, Business, Economics, Chemistry, Chinese, Computer Science, EAL, ESL, Geography, Maths, Music, Physics, and PE.

A: In NAS Beijing, Shunyi, we have many choices. Students can choose ECA after the class. At the same time, we also provide ASA courses with our characteristics.
We now have more than 60 ECA and more than 20 ASA. The children can find their passion from academics, sciences, sports, arts, or humanities. It is a good method for the students to achieve personalized development.

A: Students can join the school any time during the term after a one-on-one meeting before submitting the application. We suggest the family meet us on our open day to learn about our methods, curriculum, characteristics, and long-term education plan.
NAS Beijing, Shunyi welcomes families who share our values and hope to integrate into our community to join us.
When the students are about to leave their primary schools, parents can register their children regardless of which district they are located. Parents can always contact our office of admissions for case-by-case discussion if the child looks for a transfer opportunity.
In addition, we also offer a one-day trial for prospective students for free. This taster course offers the students an opportunity to experience our class, teaching, culture, and methods.
