"Meet the Music Teachers Assembly" showcased our talented teachers who provide individual music lessons to our students at MIS.
“MIS音乐老师见面会”向大家展示了我校音乐老师的才艺和天赋，我们的音乐老师为学生们提供了专业丰富的课程和一对一教学服务。
Simon Gunn our Gap Student from Edinburgh began the assembly with his bagpipe performance which he recently also played as part of the band at the world-famous Edinburgh Tattoo. On the piano Mr Deng and Ms Gabby executed the famous "Chopin".
见面会以我们来自爱丁堡的间隔学生Simon Gunn悠扬的苏格兰风笛为开篇，近期，他和他的乐队也在世界闻名的爱丁堡军乐节中表演了苏格兰风笛。另外，邓老师和Gabby老师分别演奏了两首不同类型的钢琴作品(均来自作曲家肖邦)。
Opera singer Ms Lily performed a German aria in the style of a waltz, where her vocal range and control amazed students and parents.
歌剧演唱家Lily女士倾情演唱了一首华尔兹风格的德语咏叹调，她对声音的把控以及其音域之辽阔令在场的学生和家长们赞叹不已。
Weipeng Liu, a phenomenally distinguished cellist based in Guangzhou, performed the concerto by Haydn and a virtuoso piece by Paganini to end the assembly.
常居广州颇负盛名的大提琴家刘蔚鹏精湛地演奏了海顿大提琴协奏曲和尼科罗·帕格尼尼的作品，将见面会带向了尾声。
Clan Singing
Clan 歌唱比赛
As a foretaste of Clan Music, which takes place in the Summer Term, the three clans got together to battle it out on stage in our 'Clan Shout'.
为了让大家对明年夏季的Clan音乐演出先睹为快，三个clan齐聚一堂，在“Clan大声唱”活动的舞台上进行了比拼。
Each Clan had the full support of every member participating. With Lomond performing The Lion King's "Circle of Life", Nevis blasted out the Imagine Dragons "Thunder" with a smattering of "Amazing Grace", Edinburgh had the crowd bopping with "Move Your Feet".
每个参与的Clan成员都全力以赴，Lomond演唱了《狮子王》主题曲“生生不息”，Nevis唱响了混剪进“奇异恩典”的迷幻乐团Imagine Dragons的歌曲“雷声”，Eindburgh以歌曲“移动你的脚步”带动了在场的听众。
The results were incredibly close but the winner, by one point only, was Nevis. Well done to everyone who made the event a great success!
三组的比赛评分差别不大，Nevis以一份领先的成绩夺得了冠军。致敬每位为此次演出给予支持的学生和老师们，你们好样的!

Flute Teacher
长笛老师 Danwei
Flute teacher Danwei was first introduced to the flute by her father. Attending Shen Yang Conservatory of Music, she studied with Professor Yu Jixue and Yu Tong. Danwei graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts(HKAPA) where her teacher was the principal flute of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra(HKPhil). She earned her Master’s degree from the Academy in 2015.
In 2010 Danwei further studied Performance at HKAPA where she participated in several international flute competitions representing China.
Danwei plays with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra , Macau Symphony Orchestra and Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra. She was also the flute principal in the Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) in 2014 and 2015.
李丹微毕业于香港演艺学院，师从香港管弦乐团首席长笛梅根‧史德琳(Megan Sterling)，于2015年6月获得硕士学位。李丹微从小随父亲李梧先生学习长笛，之后考入沈阳音乐学院附中及大学,先后师从于继学和于彤教授。2010年考入香港演艺学院深造,随卫庭新(Tim Wilson)先生及梅根‧史德琳(Megan Sterling)女士学习长笛。求学期间，李丹微表现优异,曾代表中国参加〈第一届东亚长笛联盟长笛比赛〉，〈北京第二届尼克莱国际长笛比赛〉及日本〈琵琶湖国际长笛比赛〉。李丹微亦经常应邀于香港管弦乐团，澳门交响乐团和深圳交响乐团的排练和演出。2014及其2015两年分别作为长笛首席和短笛参加亚洲青年交响乐团(Asian Youth Orchestra)。于2013年开始任教于香港演艺学院。
Piano Teacher
Richard Deng 钢琴老师
Richard Deng graduated from The University of Nottingham and the University of Hertfordshire with a double Master’s degree. He won the University of Hertfordshire Dean’s Award of Honour in 2018. In 2016, he joined the De Havilland Symphony Orchestra as a Keyboard player and in 2017, he participated in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Teachers Conference (ABRSM) in London. During his time in the UK, he studied the early music education skills and piano performances of the pianist, Dr Anthony Williams. Whilst studying abroad, he held personal piano concerts in both Shenzhen and London. Winning a silver medal in the China Shanghai International Youth Piano Competition, he was also awarded the Excellent Teacher honorary certificate from the Chopin International Piano Competition in Poland. Richard sat on the panel of adjudicators for the 83rd Steinway International Youth Piano Competition in China.

Singing Teacher
声乐老师 Lily Li
Hong Kong based Soprano Xiaohui Li (Lily Li) studied singing from an early age. In 2008, she attended the Hamburg Conservatoire in Germany, graduating in 2015 and continues to pursue her postgraduate studies there. Lily has studied with Professor Ilse Christine Otto, soprano singer Cornelia Zach of Zurich Opera, soprano singer Julia Henning of Berlin University of Art, and vocal art director Henning Lucius. Lily has enjoyed participating in vocal master classes by soprano singer Angela Denoke and Mezzo-soprano singer Cundula Schneider from 2015-2019. Graduating in training of German Dalkroz teaching method she is now qualified with a Montessori International Teaching Certificate for 3-6 year olds. Lily is a popular figure on the Hong Kong operatic stage and we are delighted to have her here at MIS.
栗晓慧 ,女高音，中国国籍，自幼学习音乐，现居香港，2008年赴 德国学习声乐，2015年毕业于汉堡音乐学院声乐系，现今继 续攻读汉堡音乐学院研究生。师从于教授Ilse Christine Otto, 师从于苏黎世歌剧院女高音歌唱家Cornelia Zach ,前柏林艺术 大学女高音歌唱家Julia Henning,及著名声乐艺术指导Henning lucius。参与声乐大师课师从女高音歌唱家Angela Denoke ,及女中 音歌唱家Cundula Schneider。在德国多次担任合唱团声乐指 导和独唱。2015-2019年间参加德国达尔克罗兹教学法的培训，同时攻 读蒙特梭利3-6岁国际教师资格证牌照。
Piano Teacher
Gabriella Hilton 钢琴老师
Gabriella is a piano teacher with 15 years experience. After teaching music and art to children for a number of years, Gabriella gained a place at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, the most prestigious conservatoire in China. There she embraced a systematic method of developing piano technique performances and music that she is passionate about passing on to her students here at MIS. Gabriella obtained a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s degree in Music Pedagogy. With flexible and varied teaching methods Gabriella believes in building confidence through positive relationships with her students. Gabriella assists many of her students whilst sitting their ABRSM examinations and in piano competitions.
Gabriella老师从事钢琴教育工作超过了15年，具有很丰富的教育经验。Gabriella老师的第一份工作是幼儿园老师，教一群三到六岁的孩子音乐和美术。那几年的工作经历使Gabriella逐渐认识到幼儿的心理特点和年龄特征。几年后，Gabriella考入中国最高水平的音乐学院——中央音乐学院，接受了系统、专业的钢琴演奏和音乐教育学理论教育，并获得了音乐教育的学士和硕士学位。
Gabriella用灵活多样的教学方法来吸引孩子们在课堂上的注意力，Gabriella迷人的微笑和亲和力让她很受学生们的欢迎。在十几年的教学过程中，Gabriella的许多学生获得了英国皇家音乐学院的钢琴演奏和乐理证书，并在亚洲钢琴比赛中获奖。
Guitar Teacher
吉他老师 Yuda Deng
Yuda Deng was born in Shenzhen, China and began to study classical guitar from the age of 10. At 15, he studied at the Music School, at Shenzhen Art School and in 2009, he was accepted into the Xinghai Conservatoire in Guangzhou. In 2013, he undertook a postgraduate study at the Manhattan School of Music, graduating after two years with a Masters’ degree. Yuda was the first Chinese citizen to be accepted onto this course. In the USA, Yuda performed at the United Nations, the US Hudson Riverside Park Church, the Rubin Museum in New York, the Miller Recital Hall and the Greenfield Hall. In China, Yuda has performed at the Shenzhen Concert Hall, the Qinling Guitar Festival and the Xuzhou Concert Hall and participated in the planning and brand promotion for Shenzhen lunch-time concerts.
邓裕达出生于中国深圳。他10岁开始学习古典吉他。十五岁时，他就读于深圳艺术学院附属的音乐学院，并于2009年被广州星海音乐学院录取。2013年，他在曼哈顿音乐学院攻读研究生，两年后获得硕士学位。他是第一个被录取的中国人。曾在美国哈德逊河滨公园教堂，纽约鲁宾博物馆，米勒演奏厅，格林菲尔德音乐厅演出。在中国，他曾在深圳音乐厅，秦岭吉他音乐节和徐州音乐厅演出。并参与了深圳午餐时间音乐会的策划和品牌推广。
Cello Teacher
Weipeng Liu 大提琴老师
Weipeng Liu studied Cello at La Escola Superior de Musica de Catalyunia (ESMUC) with Damian Martinez. In 2005, he transferred to East Carolina University, Greenville, NC to continue studying under the tutelage of Emanuel Gruber. Liu then received a coveted scholarship from Indiana University to complete a Master’s degree, where he studied with world-renowned cellist Janos Starker. During 2012, he received the Artist’s Diploma from Yale University under tutelage of Professor Aldo Parisot. Currently, Liu serves as the assistant principal of the cello section in Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.
刘蔚鹏，刘先生前往西班牙巴塞罗那，进入La Escola Superior de Musica de Catalyunia(ESMUC)学习大提琴学士学位。2005年，刘先生转学到北卡罗来纳州格林维尔的东卡罗来纳大学继续攻读Emanuel Gruber的学士学位。作为印第安纳大学雅各布奖学金获得者的最高奖学金，刘先生完成了与世界知名大提琴家亚诺斯·斯塔克的硕士学位。2012年5月，他在耶鲁大学接受了Aldo Parisot教授的艺术文凭。目前，刘先生是广州交响乐团大提琴部门的助理校长。
Violin Teacher
小提琴老师 Bijun Mao
Bijun Mao graduated from Xinghai Conservatory of Music in violin. In 2009, she joined the Guangdong Pearl River Symphony Orchestra. During 2013, Bijun studied art in France and the Netherlands for exchanges before collaborating with Jose Carreras, one of the world's most famous opera singers (one of the original ‘Three Tenors’). In 2015, she participated in the performance of the "Lang Lang National Music Dream Tour" Shenzhen Station and represented Guangdong Province in Canada. In 2016, in Peru, she played at the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Peru. Bijun is currently the principal second violin in the Guangdong Pearl River Symphony Orchestra.
毛璧君，毕业于星海音乐学院。2009年被聘为广东珠江交响乐团小提琴演奏员。2013年随团去法国、荷兰进行艺术学习交流, 同年与世界三大男高音之一卡雷拉斯合作担任伴奏声部。2015年参加“郎朗全国音乐梦想巡演”深圳站的演出。同年代表广东省赴加拿大参加演出。2016年赴秘鲁参加中国和秘鲁建交45周年音乐会。现任广东珠江交响乐团二提琴首席。

Simon Gunn
苏格兰风笛老师
Simon Gunn is a GAP student MIS. Coming from Edinburgh, Scotland and having studied at Merchiston Castle School, Simon went on to obtain his MA (Hons) degree in Geography from The University of Aberdeen. Having played the bagpipes for 12 years, Simon has competed in many worldwide events such as the Basel Tattoo, Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the World Pipe Band Championships.
